Stop Conflict Minerals Trade
Sales of “conflict minerals” are known to fund human rights atrocities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. One mineral in particular, col-tan, is used in electronic products such as cell phones and laptops. American consumers unwittingly purchase products containing these minerals that contribute to the ongoing bloodshed and gender-based violence in the DRC.
ACT:S network, we need to act! If passed, the Conflict Minerals Trade Act would give consumers the choice to purchase conflict-free electronics products. The Conflict Minerals Trade Act has been added as an amendment to the Wall Street Reform Bill. Ask your senators to support these provisions today!
